Friday and Saturday the Viking Provincial athletes competed in Saskatoon with an incredible showing! We had multiple top 16 placements, outstanding personal bests by many of our athletes. A reminder to all canteen workers that there is a check list on the wall in the canteen to outline the responsibilities. Each group working must restock items as needed, tidy and leave it ready for the next group. A big Viking Thank You to Vayda W and Owen P for all of their work tidying up the canteen yesterday. Huge shoutout to the following people for all their help with Run Jump and Throw yesterday : to our Grade 9’s who braved the heat and wind and gave it their best at every event we could not have done it without you, to Hunter Knopp and Jackson Flavell who jumped in and helped set up tents in the morning without being asked, to our Food studies class that helped in the canteen, and to all the students in high school who helped to give the grade 9’s a break, or help in the canteen. Finally to all the staff who were flexible, and helped in whatever ways they were needed thank you! What a great show of Viking spirit!
Next week begins our jam packed month of fun as we near the end of the school year. Tuesday will be the grade 2-3 field trip. Thursday, will be the annual Grad Breakfast. Friday we play host to Bulyea Grade 6 class for a bbq to welcome our new students who will be joining us in the fall for Grade 7. The June calendar will be handed out today with more exciting events!

Today is Run, Jump, and Throw for our elementary students. The gym and the library will be used for most of the day for this event. The canteen will be open to all students at lunch if you would like to buy a treat or something to eat.

William Derby had an outstanding day at Pre District Track yesterday. A big Viking cheer goes out to Ms Lowe and her team for all of their dedication and hard work. And cheers to Mrs Kelln and the canteen crew who kept everyone fed and hydrated. Staff and students worked incredibly hard to make the day run smoothly. Congratulations to all athletes for showing up and giving it your all. For those athletes advancing on to Districts, well done!
